Advancing to Phase Two: Building Design & Fundraising
With the settlement of our purchased land at 8 Blackwood Avenue, Hamilton Hill finalized in February 2024, we officially embarked on the second phase of our journey—the Building Design phase under our “Buy and Build” strategy. Our Church Home Project has been strategically divided into four key phases:
- Phase One: Purchase of Land
- Phase Two: Building Design
- Phase Three: Construction
- Phase Four: Preparing for Building Use
Phase Two: Key Objectives
As we step into Phase Two, our Church Home Project Team is focused on two primary objectives:
- Developing a cost-effective building design that meets the seating capacity of 200 members and accommodates the ministry needs of our church for at least the next decade. The finalized design will be submitted to the City of Cockburn for approval, allowing us to transition smoothly into the construction phase.
- Accelerating our fundraising efforts to ensure we have the necessary funds to commit to an estimated construction cost of $2 to $2.5 million. After much prayer and discussion, our church leadership decided to approach funding through multiple channels:
- A financial loan
- Kingdom Matters pledge drives
- Small-scale elective fundraising activities
- Online external fundraising campaigns
Kingdom Matters Pledge Drives
To establish a strong financial foundation for the construction phase, we launched two rounds of Kingdom Matters pledge drives in February 2024 and November 2024. These initiatives invited our Hope Church Perth family to commit to a pledge of $35 per week (or more) for a period of two to three years. The goal is to raise a seed fund of $750K, enabling us to begin construction and secure a suitable financial loan. Additionally, this fundraising effort is critical in meeting the loan provider’s requirements as they assess our capacity for loan repayment once construction begins.
By God’s grace, 44 members and families have faithfully committed to these pledges, contributing generously towards our vision. As of today, the total amount pledged stands at $246,420, and as of 31st December 2024, our overall Church Home seed fund has reached $377K. All glory to God!
Expanding Fundraising Efforts
While we rejoice in how far God has brought us, we recognize that we are still working towards achieving our $750K fundraising goal. To bridge the gap, we are launching two additional fundraising campaigns, reaching out to the friends of Hope Church Perth both locally and internationally. You can visit our “Campaign” page on this website to learn more about these initiatives and how you can partner with us in this mission.
Additionally, we continue to hold elective fundraising initiatives at Leisurelife Centre after Sunday services, such as fresh grape sales and baked BBQ pastry bun sales. Keep an eye on our “Recent Updates” section or our blog space for information on upcoming fundraising activities!
Moving Forward in Faith
We are in awe of how God has been moving in this journey—stirring hearts, strengthening our church family, and opening doors of provision. The road ahead is still unfolding, but we walk forward with unwavering faith, trusting that He who began this good work will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and continued support. Together, let’s build God’s house for generations to come!
