In 1993, two young ladies came to Perth with a dream of playing their part in fulfilling God’s dream of making disciples of the nations. They said yes to God’s call and uprooted themselves from comfortable Singapore to the land Down Under. They dreamt of what God would have them be in serving Him in the city of Perth.

As our city has changed like many, into a melting pot of cultures; God has brought people from across twenty different nations and walks of life to Perth and into our church community over 30 years. Though our earlier generations of people have come and moved on, some have made Perth their new home literally, and new generations are arising.

We honour those who have been part of this journey. Uncle Eddie is one of the special persons in the heart of our church history. He together with Aunty Hannah are forerunners who migrated from Malaysia and have invested time and effort toward that dream. He cast the seed idea of our church owning its own building back in 2008.The humble beginnings of our fundraising began with our church having lunch in. Uncle Eddie invested in a rice cooker, plates and cutlery to kickstart this initiative. He showed us what it meant to not look down on small beginnings. Though Uncle Eddie has gone to be with the Lord, his dream remains very much alive today - one that we are believing and hoping in God to bring to pass.

Fast forward this journey towards a place to call our spiritual home. We now own a 3082 sqm land in the southern suburb of Hamilton Hill and debt free (stage 1). Stage 2 is about design to development approval for works and completing construction of a 200 seater multi-purpose building that not only serves as a church home but also a functional space that can be a gathering place where people can encounter faithfulness and kindness.

Pastor Lai Ling shared this prophetic word over our church in May 2024. “I believe there is an anointing of healing that's been released into this church. Not just within the church itself, it would go into the community. I saw the words renovate, restore, rebuild, renew lives, individuals, marriages, families as well. I see that in the days to come as well, Hope Perth as a church, I believe would be working with agencies, government agencies, community organisations, but always with the Christian values and ethos in them.And I sense that, the Lord would encourage you as a church, that there are two key hallmarks of this church would be faithfulness and kindness that you would bestow upon the lives of others. There is that whole essence of kindness that I ascend strongly in the house of God, in the hearts of the people here, and even in the faithfulness before God.”

We would like to sincerely thank and applaud the wonderful combined effort of both our Agila families and Worship team for making this worship night a reality after months of planning and preparation!

On this worship night with a theme of “Rise and Build”, we were very encouraged by our Hope Perth members and many invited friends who were present and joined us together singing, praising and worshipping our almighty God! It was a great time seeking the Lord and praying for His favour, courage and breakthrough as we entrust our church home project into His hands.

After years of perseverance, prayer, and unity, we are thrilled to share that we have secured our very own lot in Hamilton Hill! This incredible milestone represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream to create a space where our community can worship, grow, and thrive together.

The journey wasn’t easy. It required unwavering faith, countless prayers, and determination to overcome obstacles. But God’s perfect timing has brought us here, and we stand in awe of His faithfulness.
